I’ve been through this more than once. The first time I called my ins co and the agent actually told me to contact the other guy’s company directly. Involving your own ins co may cause your monthly rate to go up. Since the person has already admitted fault, once you contact his company they will handle it. They’ll provide you with the name of a repair place, pay for repairs and pay for a rental if needed. They may send out an inspector first though. If they do this they will quote you an amount that they will pay for repairs. Once you bring in your car to be fixed, if it should cost more than the quote, the repair place should renegotiate the cost directly with the insurance co. Most likely it will all be covered.
