What I find frustrating is gifts that show absolutely no effort on the giver.  My sibling sent teeshirts that her friend's kids would like based off a specific tv show.  Mine does not watch tv or movies - child's choice and has very distinct interests that are easy to get for gifts (even teeshirts) and it would never occur to them to choose that.  My mom does the same thing.  Gets gifts her boyfriend's kids suggest for their kids and they never get played with.  It would never occur to them to figure out what our kids like and get stuff for them specific to their interests.  We have a collection of books and toys never touched as the other kids like them but ours don't.[/quote]

Haha, a family member gave my kids that piano because they love cats. I don’t find it that annoying though. Some of the Vtech toys are much more irritating.[/quote]

Our family member thought it was cute.  No idea how annoying it was.  We sent it to their house.  I like most of the Vtech toys.  Now my kids are older and we have tons of loud instruments and it doesn't bother me at all.[/quote]
