I wonder if OP's kid intends to go to Stanford or if Stanford is or will be one of several acceptances and OP plans to trumpet each acceptance as it rolls in? If the DC is still making a choice among schools, making a huge public announcement about one particular acceptance would seem to pressure a DC to say yes to that particular school. Maybe OP's kid has already said yes to Stanford. But a kid who was on the fence and waiting to hear from another school might not welcome to much fuss before his choice is final. [/quote]
