Interior Designer poster here again.  Don't take the previous posts as something to be defensive about.  It's just that unfortunately $30,000 is very unreasonable.  Nothing wrong with HD but even buying from there you still won't meet $30,000.  Maybe if you do the construction yourself you could.  But labor alone will be a huge chunk of your budget.  My mother just renovated her kitchen.  She moved no walls, electrical, plumbing etc.  She did do new flooring, ikea cabinets, granite and new appliances.  She spent about $45,000.  Nobody is trying to offend you they are just trying to tel you to be fully realistic before entering into this costly and time consuming process.  Just because you feel it's realistic doesn't make it so.  Trust me I've done numerous renovation from low budget to high budget.[/quote]

Can you give me a rough breakdown on her costs? How much did she spend on each part? Cabinets - materials/labor? floor installation? Countertops?[/quote]
