Brookside Gardens in MoCo.
+1 Terrific. We love the Brookside displays--and they have hot chocolate and food for sale, and most evenings have wonderful musicians performing in their visitor center. Also--do not miss the delightful model train displays in the greenhouse! Kids will love spotting little figures of characters like zoo animals, Muppets, Woody and Buzz, et etc. among the train sets. A couple of tips: 1) Get there timing it to arrive a few minutes before they open. You might have to wait in your car just outside the gates briefly, but opening-time arrival really helps avoid longer waits. Avoid going on popular nights like weekends, if you can, but whenever you go, be there when they open! 2) It's a park-and-walk-through experience, so watch the temperature. You do get indoors at both ends of the gardens (visitor center and greenhouse); however, if it's really cold and yours with kids who will dislike being outside in the cold, go another night when temps are a bit higher, if you can. It's not fun to have to rush through such lovely displays because kids are complaining about the cold and dashing ahead to crowd indoors. Enjoy!
