For example, let’s say a car is listed with an “online price” of $30,000, but then has “Black Friday” savings of $1700 and “Extra Special” savings of $1200, bringing it down to $27,100. Are you ever able to talk them down from THAT price? Will they ever go lower than the current promotions?
I will certainly try. But not like the way you are describing. You need to make dealers compete for your purchase.
They are all running the same promotions. Currently, I have both saying they are offering the promotions mentioned above. What should I do from here? Should I say something like, “X dealer is offering the same thing but I’d like to buy from you? Can you beat them?”
Send emails to 4-5 dealers - clearly describe which car you wnat - model, make, color if you know, options...etc. Tell them you plan to buy this Thanksving wkd. Ask them to give you "out the door" price. Have them include, tax, tag, all incentives, dealer mark-down...etc. Once they return your email w/ price quote, use that price to let them compete against each other. it will take some time/effort but it's worth your time
This is what I’ve done with two thus far, and they came back with identical quotes. I’ll add a couple more now. Thanks!
