How is the baby doing OP? I am sending you hugs. It is hard to see baby sick but you will grow some routine and it will be much easier. First times are most difficult always with everything, besides iif it is your first baby it is really big deal and such a huge change in your life, your body and mind are still somewhat tired after the delivery so any emotional events like this is harder then it will be later down the lane. Good news is that babies are pretty resilient and that they usually bounce back pretty quickly. One thing that many moms report and I can subscribe, learn to watch the baby behavior and then on, if the kid does not appear sick much or plays and is energetic through the sickness, it is usually not that bad but if they are acting sick and looking sick, then it is usually something bit more concerning. They usually bounce fast from those ones that they don't look to sick. Always double and triple check the medications dosage, call few times talkt o different people with your insurance because there always is a chance of someone miscalculating or being tired. This is very serioius thing, dosage is something that can be dangerous. There have been also recommendation changes with all kids cold meds lately so it is really reason for concern. Ask the medical professional that is your advisor if they would recommend to do half dosage or something like that because often this could do the trick of taking the edge off, you might want to be careful with cold meds like tylenon that are very tricky with liver etc. So ask for side effects and smaller dosage, if you can reduce temp down a bit to a safe level, it is usually safe and also fever heals, it is nature's mechanism. But please do verify this with your healthcare professional and as always follow their advice first. Just ask the right questions. Don't hesitate call more then once.
