Also, it's ridiculous that I don't let people who I haven't seen or interacted with, that have had no impact on my current relationship, have an impact on my children's names?  You're saying that I *should* let these kind of marginal figures in my life (and a high-school ex boyfriend's ex girlfriend is pretty much the definition of marginal) influence my children's names?  That is a *better* way to go through life?

Naw, my in laws wanted to name their son after a deceased family member, Donald and vetoed it because of Trump.  This is EXACTLY what you're describing.  Would you name your son Donald????
