My 5yr old loves the Lego Discovery Center at King of Prussia mall. We go when we visit friends in Philly. There is a little ride to enter, 3-5 stations to build different things - race cars, trains, Lego Friends, etc. There was a big climbing structure, a large Lego display, a Ninjago laser maze and some short movies to watch. My Lego obsessed kid can easily play Legos at home by himself for 3-4 hours. We could spend a whole day there if our 3yr old didn’t need to nap.
My kids were 6 and 8 when we went to the PA Lego Discovery center last year. This is a great description. All four of us were a little underwhelmed when we first walked in, but ended up spending four hours there and having to drag the kids out. It was a blast. It's certainly not worth a drive to Yonkers (or even Philly) but if you're in the area it's a great half day activity.
