Do you really want an ethics committee deliberating about your medical treatment while you are in agony from life-threatening sepsis?? [/quote] NP here, and I did read the article. The ethics committee was contacted by telephone and it was less than an hour from when the doc said she would call to when the patient was informed of the decision and action was taken. [/quote]
