1. Accept that there really is little difference between ECNL and other leagues WRT player development. The development occurs mainly through the club and augmented by what opportunities (individual training, camps, etc.) you provide your child.

2. Choose the club that fits your child and your family best. By fit consider development program, coaching, facilities, players, families, cost, travel time, etc.

3. Recognize ECNL requires a lot more money and a lot more time than the other leagues (and then seriously ask yourself is the juice really worth the squeeze?)

4. Support your child's enjoyment of the sport; this is why we say "play soccer." The likelihood that your kid will go onto collegiate soccer (esp. D1) or pro soccer is very, very, very low whether she/he plays ECNL or not.

With nearly a decade of experience, I found many good things about BRYC and several not so good things. The latter helped steer my sons to other clubs.[/quote]
