So today I am reminded of why I pay for parking and sit in traffic on a daily basis. Took the train today because of the protests. How do you people do this every day? I watched a man barrel into a woman while trying to get into the metro before the doors shut. He didn't even flinch, no apologies, nothing. I saw a man step on a woman's foot and proceed to rest his arm on her head (in a effort to squeeze his 6ft2 260 pound frame into a space that he clearly shouldn't have tried to wedge himself into. He didn't apologize or try to pretend to find somewhere else to rest his arm. And the kicker is there was another 6ft young man who proceeded to lecture the woman on how she needed to be understanding because the train was crowded. All of this for w/ parking included almost -- $20. No thanks Metro and sorry planet but mass transpo as it currently exists isn't for me. I will never complain about my car commute ever again. I took the train on a regular basis about 10 years ago. I don't remember people being this rude, even with trains that were much more crowded. Is it the design of the new train cars or do people just suck!
Sounds like you have some major man issues. I took the train today just I've been doing for years. I squeezed into a seat next to a moderately obese middle-aged woman, both because I wanted to sit down and also because I was willing to squeeze into the space so she wouldn't be even more self-conscious about her weight. It wasn't the most comfortable Metro ride in the world, but we managed. It didn't occur to me until I read your post that perhaps I should have demanded an apology from her about the amount of space she took up. I'll try to remember that next time.
