On Saturday, 6 teams traveled from North Carolina to play VDA but no referees showed up for any of the matches. VDA forgot to book refs. Totally unsat! It’s not the players fault. Not the parents fault. Not the visiting teams fault. Not the ECNL’s fault. Please VDA, get your sh%t together!
The club does not book the referees. There is an assignor that handles the referees for Northern Virginia. Have a great evening. You seem like a really good person. Hopefully your kids don’t talk to you.
“ REQUIRED GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES When the Home Team is the Host Member Club Schedule and payment of referees (and Assignors), Securing the facilities, and Setting and submitting game times notifying teams participating in a timely fashion (as well as the ECNL Office). For each fixture date, the home team will work with the away team to set game times for each age group. These times shall be set within the following parameters: a. Younger age groups should be played before older age groups, b. No game shall be scheduled before 9 a.m. without approval of both teams and the ECNL Commissioner, c. All games within a fixture date must be played at the same facility unless both teams and the ECNL Commissioner agree that additional facilities may be used, and d. There shall be a minimum of two (2) hours between game start times. Referees: For each fixture date, the host member club/team is responsible for assigning referees for all games. The home team shall send confirmation of the referee crew assigned to each game to the ECNL Commissioner no later than seven (7) days before the fixture date.
