Natalie’s obsessive jealousy of Caroline is so blatantly apparent. She is hell-bent on revenge for never being like Caroline. I’m not really sure how Caroline wronged her—Natalie is mad that her payday and fame never materialized through the book deal. She reminds me of Gene in A Separate Peace and Tom Ripley in The Talented Mr. Ripley. Why did Natalie not use her NYU degree to launch her own career? She seems to blame and resent Caroline for her success. FWIW, I never heard if either of them until this thread. I’m definitely older than their target demographic.[/quote]
