She is an odd duck. What stood out to me more what a quote she had about how people who are critical of others and focused on the flaws of others rarely spend time looking at their own shortcomings. I thought that was 100% incorrect. In my experience, people who are very focused on the flaws of others are usually so because they are insecure and miserable with themselves. Haters gonna hate but they usually hate themselves the most.
I heartily disagree with you. There are turns of phrase in practically every language that focus on how easy it is to see other people's flaws but not one's own. The English one, based on the Bible, is: "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." (King James version, my favorite). To answer the OP, I've met a lot of Principals. The most successful ones are always a little wacky. They've got to be - it's not an easy job being the prime target of snowflake parents while protecting students and juggling teachers and paperwork!
