Parents are welcome to sign their child up for a FREE trial class in "Shamrock Beginners" which gives dancers age 5+ a unique way to explore Irish culture, music and DANCE, led by former Broadway & Riverdance cast members!  Irish dance is the perfect activity for a creative, curious child who can't keep their feet still!!!

District Irish Dance Academy is excited to announce its first own studio will open on September 9, the first day of classes for the fall semester. Located in the Palisades neighborhood of northwest D.C., the studio joins an eclectic offering of small businesses along MacArthur Boulevard.

Since launching a year ago, the Academy has performed widely within the community, at various festivals, farmers markets, retirement homes, community centers (including N Street Village), at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, and for the Irish Ambassador. The school has grown to over 50 students, ages 5 to adult, from beginning dancers to students competing at the National and World Championship levels.

This year also welcomed TCRG instructor Bernadette Devereaux as a co-teacher at the academy. Bernadette, a D.C.-area native, is a former lead dancer in Lord of the Dance and co-cast member with Joe on Broadway.
