Please note that absences are reported at the class level. A student may be present in the school, but absent from class (and thus missing instruction). Teachers are required to record attendance, but they cannot enter specific codes. They can only say present, absent, tardy unexcused, or tardy excused. The attendance secretary has to input special codes, and the school may or may not be good about notifying them. These are the absence codes https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/uploadedFiles/schools/northbethesdams/news/2017-2018%20Attendance%20Codes.pdf SSI can be both in school field trips or an in school suspension, so I don't see how that could be reported as suspensions directly. But the counselor should have access to administrative records and could discuss something from that (don't know if they would.) OSUS is out of school suspensions are their own category and thus reportable directly from that code. During AP testing, students are absent from class. They should be using the ACI code. In our school, seniors with 5 or more tests are excused for a block of time, and that is usually entered in the system ahead of time. The rest of the testing codes are put in based on actual attendance at the test.
