rising 6th grade dd plans to try out for a few teams. part of what she is looking for is who will potentially be on a team with her. Does she know anyone? Is she comfortable with the other girls on the team? She received an offer from a team just now. She has until 6 pm tonight to accept or reject the offer. But she still has a couple tryouts coming up. What to do?
What club is it for?
None of the big ones (Capital, Pride, Stars, M&D). DD most likely will not play at the collegiate level. She just wants to improve her game and have fun.
I have to say this post makes me kind of sad. I know you have good intentions but "most likely will not play at the collegiate level??" She is in 6th grade! I have a daughter who played in college. I have coached kids that were not the most skilled or most athletic in middle school who flourished later and went on to play in college. Some girls are late to develop the coordination especially the taller girls. Once they hit high school it all comes together. However, I think all kids in 6th grade should want to play at the highest level. There is nothing wrong with a player setting high goals. 6th grade is too young to make conclusions. I hope she finds a good team and an encouraging coach.
