True. Silver Spring is basically everywhere east of 355 that isn't incorporated. Downtown Silver Spring is more politically like Takoma Park and DC.

As for Gerrymandering, there was a redistricting proposal on the table that showed axing most of the MoCo part of the 6th and ceding the northern counties of the 8th to the 6th. MD-8 would basically be entirely MoCo minus a few upcounty areas, which would mean that Jamie Raskin would be winning his district with 90% of the vote and going as far left as he wants. [/quote]

PP and here's what that proposal looked like. Raskin's district effectively eliminates any Republican or Center-leaning areas in MoCo from his district. It would look more like AOC's district.
