I’ve had a good amount of patience this summer, but it gets tested as the day is ending, because well I’ve already been so patient. Towards the end I’m mentally getting worn out. Yesterday it hit a lot earlier. But I was ok. Until.. we were headed out for some water fun. I got everyone in swimsuits, sunscreen on. Realized it would be good to fill up some water bottles. I grabbed one disposable bottle, but wanted to fill up two more that should be easy to find. Except they weren’t there. I was back and forth in the kitchen looking for the lids, filling up bottles, and then the two younger ones started fighting *again.* This thought process only took 1 second, but it made me so miserable that here I am struggling and sweating to take them somewhere fun. It’s taking a bit longer to get out the door than I wanted. I have a headache even though I took ibuprofen an hour ago ...... That’s it!! I screamed so hard at them!! I hate it. I do NOT prefer to do it. All I said over and over again is “stop fighting!” I was very sad after that. For everyone. On the way to our destination they got a great, calm lecture from me It was eerie how well they listened. I even got one to admit that DAILY he refuses to throw away his pull-up, and I do it for him. He did it on his own today. And yes, they’ve fought a million times already but somehow I feel better.
