We are in a RM cluster ES right now and we just saw JW and I was shocked to see their tiny stage on the long side or a narrow cafeteria. It is one step up and is a smaller stage than our ES with less potential seating. This is a school with 1300 kids. Why do they not at least have a cafeteria that can support a lot of chairs for a concert or play. Didn't they just add an addition to the school? Does middle school not do performing arts or music. I guess where we grew up all schools had a decent theater or combo, but each level it grew much bigger for the size of the school. I was really surprised and curious what other cluster MS look like. We are new to the area from 2 years ago.
JW has a much larger elevated stage at the back of the main gym. I know Redland MS has a similar situation. For a variety of reasons JW has always done any presentation on the smaller cafeteria stage or on the main floor of the gym. The recent play was very successful and next year might require the bigger stage.
