Men would rather not have to deal with the kids and wife and father’s day. I’m a woman and I ask for a husband and kid free mother’s day every year.
As someone of the male persuasion I will disagree with you. As busy as our life has become, spending time with my daughter on father's day is what it's all about. My ideal day would be getting up early and making some bread dough with my kid, then an hour or so fishing with the family off an uncrowded dock somewhere, then hopefully find a family friendly place for lunch (must have a pinball machine) and then home to bake the bread. Putting our feet up and relaxing the rest of the day and have a simple pasta dish with fresh bread would be the perfect dinner. In an ideal world, I'd be able to leave my phone at home to disconnect from work. Dads like being dads more than you think. It's tough to juggle a lot of things sometimes, so a day of just being dad with no other responsibilities sounds great to me.
