For anyone who is familiar with SEC schools (especially schools like Alabama), it is common for mothers to stay for support during what can be a very difficult process (especially for those coming from out of state).  It would be nice for your daughter to have a place to go to where she can let her emotions out and where she can truly relax. Also, make sure she has all of her recs completed or she will be immediately released from most houses. Best of luck to your DD.....for people who have experienced Greek life, it can be such a rewarding experience filled with new friends and a chance to make a difference (lots of opportunities for community service).
