DH and I go to bed around 11 and wake up at 6 (me) and 7 (him). I wish I needed less sleep because I/we can’t get everything done at night (dishes, clean kitchen , meal prep, laundry etc...). Do others just forgo sleep? How do you get it all done? We are drowning in daily house stuff (this doesn’t even take into account gardening and home projects). Help!
What time are you getting home at night? I sleep probably 12-7, but am not doing household stuff all night either. DH does dishes and kitchen tidying up while I do bedtime. If I need to do laundry during the week I start a load as soon as I get home, change it over when done, and (honestly) fold it the next night while watching TV. We do most gardening on the weekends, and big house cleaning stuff then too--more daily stuff like vacuuming gets done as needed (a cordless stick vacuum is great for this). Usually I try to make a couple meals on the weekend that can have a meal of leftovers from, or at least have a start for another meal (eg, I always make the most rice that the rice maker can do at one time). Raw veggies get chopped most on the weekend. We get home and have dinner by 6 each night though, dd is in bed by 8. We also keep Trader Joes's freezer section stuff for quick meals on nights where we are more pressed for time--add veggies and fruit, and dinner is done.
