When a good friend was on bed rest with her third - her twin boys were 8 - I asked how can I help. She wanted me to bake a cheesecake and clean the kitchen. Would've never guessed cheesecake, but that's what she asked for and that is how I helped her. I don't even understand how you think OP was out of line. I would assume that someone on bed rest needs helps with domestic chores, especially if they just moved. If you don't want to help someone, don't ask how you can be of help - offer a specific task that suits your fancy.[/quote]
