They are not popular because the competition makes cool-looking products for less, however, if you want quality, you buy Apple. This has never changed from the time they started. The disadvantage, apart from the price, is that you have to follow their little idiosyncrasies. To me it's worth it. Please note that Apple is also a victim of tech spying.
