Fresh pineapple in large quantities can maybe possibly help bring on labor when you’re already close. Maybe that’s where it came from? The amount in pineapple fried rice if you’re no where close is not going to do anything.
This! BTW. asking OB is not always the best because they don't know everything culture-specific. It is possible that the locals know more about some foods that some far away OB. As to the amount of something .. well, don't underestimate the power of those things. Many moms were using Chinese food to induce labor because the little amount of soysauce in the food was enough to help in the final stages of the pregnancy, how much of soy sauce was there you think? Tinny amount. So those substances that are KNOWN to induce the labor have to be respected. Among them is also fresh parsley, in Europe this is pretty well known fact and avoided herb during the entire pregnancy. You do realize that NOBODY in Europe eats parsley like a cow by buckets. It is added to dishes in super tinny amounts.. yet it is avoided for safety of the baby.
