I test drove it and did not see what was so much special about it. It was really small and not much different than any other SUV. It was very nice but nothing exciting.
I did test drive it too. It was handling beautifully. Very responsive, very tight and awesome all over the place. I did love it. Tad to small for my needs so I had to pass but if it was not the case, I would get it without thinking. It is much nicer looking car then anything else in the class. I love the design. They put a lot of good work inside and out. To address the bolded remark of PP, there is EVERYTHING exciting about it. No matter how you slice it this is Range Rover we are talking about. This is the car that comes with the aura of the name that people respect. It is Land Rover brand that people associate with British Royalty. The Range Rover is made by Land Rover and since they are VERY expensive cars, they are the cars that sets the wealthy apart and for this reason are the favorite of the upper crust. Owning one is somewhat like wearing a badge, kind of like with Tesla, it is not just a car, it is a status. It is a car that average person might not even notice but it never goes unnoticed by those who know. So owning it you feel a little bit royal :). I hope that this address your remark and again, you might not find it special, just like Tesla is just a car. Every car is just a car, a box, wheels and engine, takes you from A to B. But you know just as the rest of us that some cars are more then that. This one is one of them.
I didn't find much special about it and hated things like the sunroof didn't open and didn't think it was at all fun to drive. They may be expensive and for the wealthy but I want more to a car than status. And, you can get a 1-2 year old used at a reasonable cost so they don't hold their value very well (though we keep our cars forever so thats not really an issue).
