Not bothered by it. She was probably seeking scholarship money and was wise to apply widely (maybe not that widely, but I'm not judging).

She says that many of her applications were through the Common Black application, which sends your application to as many as 53 institutions at once (more so than even the Common App). That could account for many of her acceptances.

All colleges over admit students knowing that many will choose anotehr school so I don't think she was taking seats from anyone. And the scholarships are still there to be awarded to others.
