Take a look at the GBRSs and see if you can write a letter that addresses some of the areas the teacher said your kid wasn't as strong in. Keep in mind that the initial decision is made by 5 people sitting at a table, three have to say yes or no. The appeal is a different set of eyes with, potentially, different criteria. So some new work samples that maybe show strength in an area that the other work samples or GBRSs did not. Essentially, your child doesn't have to take the WISC as the appeal. There are other paths. If you choose not to appeal, I would wait for the appeals deadline to pass. Talk to the AART and find out what the process is. [/quote]
