Physical therapist yes. Chiropractor a hard NO. Physical therapists teach you how to manage and correct an issue yourself, while a chiropractor makes you dependent on going in for a manipulation to get pain relief that never resolves, because you never correct muscle strength or imbalance issues that lead to pain in the first place. You probably need a prescription for PT for your insurance to cover it, so ask your OB for a recommendation.
That’s false. Some chiros are that way, some are not.
+1 I’ve been to quite a few chiropractors. The last practice I visit, well, this was the first office that I went to and they had a full on gym set up. He did not waste any time and after reviewing X-rays, going over my history and answering my questions, he put me to work and I was not ready! I was a little sore the next day but later that week I started to notice a major change. He doesn’t believe in medication and he also suffered with back issues, which led to his career. I did so many stretches and used so many weights while engaging in different activities. It wasn’t until I visited this practice that I learned chiropractic visits are more than massages and adjustments. I’m no longer in VA but I would definitely go back to him if I could, however, I am against these type of appointments while pregnant.
