I am desperate for a new pediatrician to manage the dizzying array of specialists we’ve seen to diagnose and treat DD’s (11) growth issues. I’m not sure if she is technically FTT, but her BMI is dangerously low. Her care has been disjointed, with a pediatrician who was content to watch her slip off her growth curve, minimized my concerns, and never read the specialists’ reports that were sent to her. After a year-long journey at NIH and Children’s Hospital, we are confident there is no underlying GI illness, hormonal imbalance, or chromosomal issue. Her growth delay seems to be multi-factorial (suspected late puberty and low calories).

She is not anorexic or bulimic (she has no body dysmorphia), nor is she picky. She eats a wide variety of foods, loves all the typical favorites (ice cream, pizza, Pop Tarts), but she eats only a few bites at a time before she is full. Someone on another thread suggested ARFID, which certainly sounds familiar. She is very anxious about her health, getting sick, vomiting, choking.

I’m not looking for a diagnosis on this board, but for a recommendation for a good pediatrician who can help us manage her care. Who will read her chart, listen to our concerns, recommend a path forward, and monitor her progress. Ideally we are looking for a doctor who takes BCBS, but we will switch insurances for the right doctor.
