Want to share some of your vents and praises? We had our third this winter and I decided to stay home. A few silly things that I hate are 1.) My house is trashed all the time because my kids play in it all day long. When we all got up, went to work/daycare/school the house had no occupants for 9 hours and stayed pristine. Even the play/hw, dinner, shower, books, bed 3 hour routine didn't damage the house beyond what a quick 9pm will tidy up. Now its just I clean up one room while they trash 2 and this ratio goes on all day long. 2.) Grocery shopping with all 3. I use to break up my shopping into my lunch breaks and rarely had to do a big shopping with all my kids. I just spent 300 at Giant with 2/3 and it was enough to make me want wine with my lean cuisine lunch. 3.) Husband thinks I have so much more time than I use to. He literally asked me if we should start ironing his shirts here. We means me BTW. A few things I love. 1.) Wearing comfy clothes. My work was really formal and normally this time of my leave I would be piecing together what fits and ordering Spanx and all that. Trying to look current and also not spend an arm and a leg. Also like my drastically reduced dry cleaning bill. Im glad to take a break for that. 2.) I eat a lot healthier. I don't have client lunches or late night dinners. I drink less because there is no "end" of my workday so I don't feel like there's a "happy hour" so to speak. 3.) I like hearing my kids play. Their games, their imagination, their ideas.
I'm not a SAHM, but item #1 did occur to me on Sunday night while I was picking up all the toys strewn all over the house from the weekend. I don't even bother trying to tidy up during the weekend, since I know the house will be trashed five minutes later.
