Any legislation dealing with immigration would have passed in the house.  It would have also passed in the Senate, but would have fallen short of the 60 votes needed since we are seeing that Democrats have no intention of doing anything about illegal immigration or the drugs and crime that come with it. Trump could've accepted the $25bil in border security money. A wall along the Rio Grande will take  years to build due to environmental issues on the river and eminent domain. In the mean time, he could've taken the $25 bil for high tech border security which is a lot easier and faster to implement.

Trump's head was stuck on the wall, whether that's due to him wanting to fulfill his campaign promise, or he likes 20th century solutions rather than high tech solutions (he's notorious for wanting old fashioned solutions like using steam on navy ships), I don't know. [/quote]
