Is it true that first graders in the DCI feeders will only have 50% chance of getting into DCI when the time Comes? My motivation for trying for one of the feeders is for the DCI feed but that doesn’t sounds too promising.
This doesn't apply to the schools that haven't expanded in the last 3-4 years (YY and I think, DCB - ou need to check). Stokes, MV and LAMB have all expanded beyond what their original allotment is. If the school doubled in size, then yes a 50% chance. If the school enlarged by a smaller amount, then your chances would be higher. The year in which this will begin to affect students in each of these schools varies. Stokes and MV lay it out explicitly on their websites. I don't think LAMB does but since it's a separate lottery you aren't 'wasting' a slot, and can ask if you should get a seat before committing.
Can you point to anything which indicates the original allotment, please, for each school? I only found that MV has 80 slots. By the way, DCI also hopes to be able to expand by the time that these issues come up, so it may be that there is space for everyone from these feeders.
