But it's a myth that people will think they'll gain "a lot of weight" if they start weight lifting. Gaining "a lot of" solid muscle (i.e., "clean bulking") in three month requires dedication and a support crew (like personal trainer and dietician). But two pounds in four weeks as a result of weight lifting, assuming OP is eating at a proportionaltely high calorie intake, is not out of the norm (if OP is a noob and started lifting seriously).
