[/quote] No, it is actually worse than you think. DMV has boomed over the last few decades; the County has not. No new businesses. Our economy is coming to the end of a very long growth period. Soon (not sure when), our economy will head into a recession, and the County will be hosed. The retiring professionals who make up the County's upper income taxpayers are retiring, and many are leaving the County. They are not being replaced in many cases. Upper income professionals who are oriented to DC are living in DC now, and have little in the County. The County is messed up, and its political leadership is short sighted and incapable of saying no to more demands on govt resources. Why is the County in the liquor business? I have lived in the County most of my life, and I have never been to a County liquor store. I have no idea where they are. Yes, I shop outside the County, as do most other people I know. [/quote]
