I just think that that it takes a bit of extra research for people doing the Angel tree type thing (selecting gifts for children you don't know) but it is better OP has these issues in the back of her mind and can look up the area. It would be awful to give a kid a warm hat, and they need a warm hat, but the kid be uncomfortable wearing it because it has a meaning that puts him at risk in his community. We do a backpack collection through dh's company each year and they ask for no red or blue backpacks. [/quote]
