Thanks for the responses![/quote] If your child is ready for it and invited to try to accelerate, it is not that hard so long as you try to spread it out over the summer. They do the 8th grade math section of Khan Academy (this is if they took Math 7 in 6th and got an A and want to). If they pass the test (my child got through about 60-70% of the Khan Academy materials and received a 90% on the test) they do Alegebra I in 7th. I believe whether they can do Algebra I and Geometry together is a function of their I-Ready scores. I also know of a child that took math 7 and 8 in 6th grade so went straight into Algebra I in 7th.[/quote]
