I am almost 31 and get mistaken to be much younger all the time. When people find out I have a toddler they freak out. Usually this happens at work or at a doctors appointment etc. I actually avoid talking about my child if I am not with him because it's kind of annoying when people make a big deal about things. I have been volunteering in my son's Sunday school class for over a year now and one of the moms asked me if I go to high school. She was looking for a babysitter and she's my age!! She didn't realize that I am older and that I have a child in the classroom. I live in a warm climate so wearing suites and blazers is really not possible. I kinda of at the point where I don't care anymore but it does suck when people your own age think you're 10 year's younger. I think they write me off.
Believe me you will be thanking your lucky stars in a decade or two!
Not true. I heard this for years from people who had no idea. I’m in my mid-50s and I’d rather be taken seriously as a grown person, than told I look so young and being dismissed. It’s done demeaning.
