DD had verbally committed to a D3 volleyball program and received an early read of her application that she would be admitted. She has a 4.4 and has taken 8 APs (but Honors Calc, as math is her weakness) and met/exceeded the general rqts for admission. She is a 2 sport athlete, works summers and volunteers with disabled children (and I think has found her calling) but only took the SAT once, getting the same score as her PSAT, 1420. In real life, those would be great credentials but for this D3 school, her SAT was just in range for acceptance. Well the coaching staff changed so she no longer has a roster spot and so she is rethinking her preferred college experience. She doesnt want to pursue the collegiate volleyball plan any longer and does seem excited about attending a larger D1 school and not playing sports. As of today, she wants to apply regular decision to her dream school, Notre Dame and retire her knee pads. Looking at Naviance and the general SAT expectations for Notre Dame, this seems to be a long shot. She did not take any subject tests which is another limitation. She missed the early action deadlines so will also apply regular decision to Boston College but perhaps will be in the range for Villanova. We are starting the college seach all over again on Nov 10th! Your advice would be awesome!!
