24k...average is more like 17k
how do you get so many? Are you a runner or do you go for a lot of walks?
Not pp, but it's not hard to get that many steps places where you walk a lot. Walk to work, walk to grocery store, drugstore, post office, etc, plus regular exercise (zumba class, kickboxing, etc). Running is more time efficient in terms of accumulating steps, but there are fewer steps in running a mile, vs, walking a mile. Your stride is longer, so running a mile may = 1500 steps, whereas walking a mile = 2000 steps. But obviously, not all steps are the same. I usually average between 15k-20k steps a day, sometime more.
do you live in the city? I guess i am use to suburban life where we drive everywhere and there is no way I could walk to work (22 miles). Even when we were on vacation this summer and hiking a lot, according to my iphone- I don't have a fit bit which probably tracks better, 18K steps for me was just under 7 miles. The most I hit in a day there was 28K steps. I can't imagine getting that many miles in walking at home, unless i made it a point to go out for a walk every day.
I do live in a city and don’t have a car so it’s pretty easy. I feel like I am always walking somewhere and always have to wear comfortable shoes!
