PP here.  I haven't had any issues with HPT strips purchased online.  I've used Proven, Easy@Home and Clinical Guard.  No false positives (unless you count the positive from trigger), and when I got pregnant the Clincal Guard was positive when I first tested on 11 dpo.  From what I remember they had a sensitivity of 10 mIU/ml, which is not much less sensitive than FRERs.  Only minor downside is that you also have to get cups to dip the strips in.

When I did get pregnant I tested with ClinicalGuard initially.  Of course I had to keep testing every couple of days, and when I ran out of the ClinicalGuard I went to CVS and picked up a box of Clearblue tests.  It was exciting to get a positive on a traditional stick test, but it did seem absurdly expensive compared with the ones I got online.  Ironically I've heard that Clearblue tests do sometimes give false positives because of the blue dye.  All the HPTs I've bought online use red/purple dye.

Same thing goes for OPKs.  I can't imagine paying for store bought OPKs when the online ones are so much cheaper and work just as well for me.  But then, I was TTC for a year and a half and probably went through more of those than most people.[/quote]
