Most of the big clubs offer goalkeeper specific training. Some will allow non-club members to signup. There are also summer clinics or residential camps. If really interested you can hire a private coach but it’s more cost effective to join a clubs existing program.
Thank you. He is in one of the clubs and they do some goalie training 1x every couple weeks. I know some clubs have more intensive training for goalies but his does not. I can check around and see if any of the other clubs allow a non member to train. Any thoughts on private coaching, does it help?[/quo Yes, private coaching does help. We tried this for my DS for a bit in offseason but stopped due to an unrelated injury. The private training is focused and intense. Many of the older HS level athletes do it. His clubs GK training is quite good already, 1-2x per week. Our last big club also held 1-2x week sessions. The are a lot of keeper skills that need focused instruction, it also helps if the team coach is supportive of the keeper role. Many are not and expect the player to develop on their own.
