What school districts split up Algebra I between 6th and 7th grade? If kids are advanced enough to be taking Algebra I in middle school, they should be able to handle doing it in one year; if they need to slow down, they should wait to take it. I've only seen Algebra I split up for kids who are not strong in math.[/quote]

Other states. My nieces and nephews are in two different states and did 6th - algebra A, 7th - algebra B, 8th - geometry, 9th - algebra II (now). Another set in another state did 6th - algebra A, summer of 6th - algebra B, 7th - geometry, 8th - algebra II (now).

NP.  Those schedules seem pretty silly.  If they're ready for Algebra 1 in 7th, then they're ready for it.  If they're not ready for it, then take it in 8th grade, the "normal" accelerated track instead of the double accelerated track (or the triple accelerated track, Algebra 1 in 6th grade).[/quote]
