This. Since Thanksgiving is early this year, you might be able to hold off until that following week. If I were you, I would test drive on Black Friday and then decide what you want, and then let dealers make a deal over the following week.

+1  December 31st would be a much better time to buy than New Year's Day -- all the dealerships are trying to hit their monthly/quarterly/annual goals.  I've actually never heard that beginning of the year was a good time to buy -- OP if you're thinking you'd be getting a better deal on last year's model then, that starts in the prior fall, no need to wait until the calendar flips.[/quote]
