I think that's a lovely idea. Sadly, I'm tapped out and have no kindness to offer anyone, not even myself. The kindness I'm offering people is to not allow them to be around me.
Op here. I’m so sorry you’re feeling that way. Wish we could hang out over a cup of coffee. Hopefully the sun will come out soon and you’ll feel better.
Thank you, Op. You sound lovely. I'd love to have coffee with you.
PP here. In the past I've done the following: Making sure I wrote management to alert them of good service. Buy someone a meal on paydays. Compliment kids who are alone, or seem insecure, etc. by engaging them and trying to point out strengths: "you seem smart, well-read, funny, etc." <---this is not creepy as I'm a parent, I can see that this wouldn't bode well for someone who isn't. I always give up seats, but I consider that courtesy than kindness. I always engage the wallflowers/loners/etc. If I can see that someone feels alone or out of place, I go talk to them, I don't push, but I say hi and chat for a bit and pick up on hints if I'm welcome or not. I've sent pizza to people on work nights when I read posts on FB about horrible days or dinner going bad. If I knew their favorite place and they were local to me, I'd make the order first then message them. If not, I'd ask then send them. I've sent people egifts for coffee, personal care items, etc. when I saw they had the need. When I don't feel like shit, I like making others feel less shitty.
