Hi all, I am writing to get a little feedback from other people to figure out if I am justly outraged or not aware of norms. I finished an ERA cycle which culminated in 2 biopsies the 3rd week of September; the tissue was sent to an outside lab for testing. I spoke with my nurse the following week to plan out my subsequent FET cycle and asked about the timing of results. I asked if she thought it would take 2 weeks, she said possibly but said she couldnt guarantee. Then, I got an email receipt from the outside lab confirming final payment. The PDF said that report had been completed 8 days after the 2nd biopsy (ie 12 days ago). I am still waiting for results. The outside lab wont release the report to me but have confirmed it was sent via email, not snail mail. I have a call into my doctors office but I am appalled that they apparently dont provide the results to patients until I start stalking them. I have been waiting everyday, phone by my side lest I miss their call. I am particularly annoyed bc I asked my nurse about the timing of the release and I realize in retrospect she was being evasive by not telling me that they wont call me, its up to me to call them and hunt down the results. I am wondering is this standard procedure? In every other medical context if I was having a non-routine test, my doctors' office has called me proactively with the results when they were in, ie a biopsy following up an abnormal routine exam. For routine tests, ie STD testing or paps, I have always been told no news is good news; we only call if there is a problem.
