I pay for excellent daycare as well. I have a 2.5yo and a 4.5yo in daycare, and both have been at the same center since they were a few months old.

I talk about everything with the teachers. From transitioning from breast to bottle, to reading progress, to potty training, we talk about it all. They do have good advice and strategies to try, but they don't have all the information or perfect strategies for *MY KIDS,* because every child is different. What worked for little Mikey might not work for little Joshua.

Your teachers need to know what does and doesn't work well for *your child.* You don't have to have all the answers, but they don't, either. You need to work as a team to compare notes, discuss what has and hasn't worked so far, and discuss what to try next.

That being said, my children are very well-behaved, so I don't have a lot of insight into challenging behavior. But both my girls do have little friends who are "that kid" in their classrooms. And I see the parents and teachers talking to each other *DAILY* about what's going on, and I often see parents of the challenging kids talking with the director in her office.

Communication is key. No one is more responsible than YOU and your husband for coming up with possible strategies and solutions. Take some classes, read some books, and keep those lines of communication open.[/quote]
