For African American women looking for African men only, DC is historically a difficult place to find a mate. You really have to prioritize dating and bring your A-game to the table. There are tons of good looking, fit, intelligent women in the city. The same with men too, when you are open to dating other folks, it broadens the playing field.
True. I was better educated and outearned most black men I met when I was single. I didn’t care, but they did. The ones who were similarly situated to me mostly did not date AA women. I heard some ridiculous excuses like AA women weren’t athletic, didn’t like sci-fi, don’t have passports. All three of those claims were negated by me and my single AA friends, but the stereotypes continue. I did date and marry interracially. It didn’t work out. I then met and married an AA man with a Ph.D who I don’t outearn. He is slightly older though (5 years) and previously divorced.
